Illustration Friday: Wrinkles

Months after her facelift, Margot looked at her bowl of stewed prunes and wondered if she was going to let their wrinkles bother her.

I especially like her lips...so tight, they barely touch her mouth. Excellent drawing!

Margot is gorgeous and the notion of botoxing prunes makes me laugh a lot; I'm grateful to people who make me laugh. I'll be back for more.

Hmm... I wonder why she's eating prunes!

Van Dyke, you work is usually funny, but this one really made me laugh. The contorted face is terrific (reminds me of a few women I work with -- lots of face lifts here in LA) and your caption is excellent. Really great stuff!

i love the humor in your drawings and the little stories that go with them. i also love your drawing style in your sketchcrawl sketches. they evoke emotion in me.

Brilliant interpretation of the theme. How many facelifts have we seen that are worse than any self-respecting prune!

BWTW, thanks for visiting my blog. Nice to meet you.

I think it's too late--the wrinkles already got to her. Wonderful sense of expression and great color.

As Heather and many others have said - the face/expression is great, as are the colors!

Plastic surgery gone wrong is always quite funny... and tragic. Looks like the doc made one side of her face tighter than the other poor dear! :-)

It is really the wrinkles in the prune that can be a bother to Margot.

Nicely done!

Lovely almost-cubist portrait. Your sketches are great too!

Her face looks too tight that I start worried it's would crack when she eat something.

I really really love the nose very very much and the expression of her face.

Looks like one side got lifted more than the other! She should get her $ back.

Thanks for visiting...

Botox-laced prunes? Hope not. Great work!

It fits in LA & Hollywood's theme that people casually doing plastic surgery like eating breakfast, a lot of work done – crazy.

Like the skewed perspective on this concept both figuratively and literally...

Hehe.. I'd be more concerned about the taste of stewed prunes!

Fun illo.
